The Actuarial System Engineer  reports to the head of department. The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the technical maintenance and further enhancements of the valuation system.

Key responsibilities:

  • Developing requirements for IT implementation
  • Overseeing the implementation backlog, including prioritization within the valuation team
  • Testing application enhancements or modifications
  • Conducting requirements engineering for the valuation landscape and the reporting database
  • Optimizing run time and performance
  • Maintaining and developing the valuation landscape
  • Overseeing further automation of existing data processing in cooperation with the valuation team
  • Acting as a database expert for the team
  • Leading or supporting other IT-related projects and tasks for the department, e.g. implementing IFRS17, coordinating licenses and software

Erforderliche Qualifikationen:

  • University degree in information technology or mathematics, or equivalent work experience

Erforderliche Berufserfahrung:

  • Proficiency in relational databases, excellent knowledge of data models and data structures (or serious motivation to quickly develop these skills)
  • Experience with programming languages (e.g. SQL, R, VBA)
  • Actuarial or financial services experience is preferable


Other requirements:

  • Good problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual skills combined with the ability to explain complex relations in an understandable way
  • Strong command of spoken and written English
